TheKillerAngel10 mies. temu#68318740It seems like they deleted their twitter. Unfortunate.
Yeah, I noticed that. Most unfortunate, indeed, especially considering the artist expressed interest in creating a sequel. Congrats on finding a copy yourself!

IceFang10 mies. temu#67491379I'd say it's worth that price given its brilliance and rarity, having been produced by an artist who has since disappeared into obscurity. My guess is that "Makiba" was a pseudonym for a well-known established artist (identity unknown) who briefly ventured into the NSFW fan scene for this one time release. It's still my single favorite yuri doujinshi of all time, and I wish there was a way to contact the artist to get more insight into its production/history and if there is any hope for a sequel.

TheKillerAngel10 mies. temu#67488935For 14,300 JPY. Not really surprised to see it going for that much.

So I finished translating the end-of-title commentary, and I will summarize here:

Artist Makiba starts by contemplating Diana's and Akko's underwear preferences, presuming that Akko owns top and bottom sets costing about 2000 yen and liking cute designs with seamless frills. Diana, on the other hand, presumably owns high quality non-seamless pantsu from a Japanese department store called Mitsukoshi as well as many g-strings so as to draw attention to herself via the tight clothing she wears overtop. (SIDE NOTE: Given how much time I had to spend researching the extremely detailed female underwear terminology used, I strongly suspect the artist is female).

Makiba then explains the reason why Akko is shown wearing mismatched underwear in this doujinshi is to emphasize how Akko doesn't embrace her femininity. In regards to the school's collective hand-washing of students' clothing as seen in episode 5, the artist wonders if the students' underwear is also washed collectively or in private. If collectively, then that would likely lead to lots of student gossip regarding the students who wear really flashy pairs.

The artist continues by explaining the difficulty in trying to fabricate an intimate encounter between Akko and Diana, not only given their relationship but also how Akko's high-energy personality results in a very non-erotic atmosphere. Did Diana research books or AV videos before this encounter? Given the events in the TV series, Makiba thinks the most believable scenario is as follows: Before arriving at Luna Nova, Akko had absolutely no interest or knowledge regarding yuri love. However, the impact Akko's arrival had on Diana likely led Diana to want to experience feelings and emotions with Akko beyond friendship. This led to Diana's first-ever desire for an intimate encounter with another girl who had zero interest in other girls up to that point... a scenario that the artist finds fascinating to think about. Makiba closes by mentioning the desire to produce another title someday and reminding the reader that Hanna and Barabara are definitely a couple, hinting at the next pairing.

I quite enjoyed translating all this as it revealed just how strongly the artist wanted to remain as authentic as possible to the official characterizations. In fact, I've been so fascinated by this artist's work that I started watching the series to better understand the official characters as well as Makiba's portrayal of them.

TheKillerAngel2 l. temu#32353881Thankfully there are high resolution scans available, but losing the master is a real shame. I was reading about the artist's computer woes on their twitter, and while I'm sure the stuff is recoverable with forensics software, I don't even know if they still have the hard drive.
The doujinshi printing service used for the first run might still have the files... I'm just not sure what the standard policy is regarding file retention for such services.

Regardless, Makiba has made a name for himself/herself, and I hope there's more to come in the future. The professional-level drawing quality seems too good for a first release, and this example from the artist's pixiv page shows equally impressive coloring skills. I think I might translate the commentary at the end of the doujinshi to see if it has any insight into the author's future plans. The final panel hints at a potential sequel involving Barbara and Hanna, and it'd be pretty cool if the next title focused on them. Then a trilogy-closer featuring everyone!

IceFang2 l. temu#32348916I've been monitoring for any and all releases by this artist since I first discovered "xxx" last year. The last time I saw copies available was in September from AliceBooks. It's been long since sold out, and I haven't seen any spring up on the used market.
If the masters are truly lost, I can't even begin to think how frustrated the artist must be. I hope it doesn't discourage him/her from any future releases because this is god-tier pure yuri.
