Hey, haven't seen this posted, but saw today on Zen's website that they're going to be allowing purchases from Mercari Japan soon. Thought I'd share, since right now, Buyee and personal shoppers are the only way to purchase from Mercari JP (aside from BiJ and Treasure Japan, shops that also do proxying).

I'm traumatized from white rabbit express because I ordered a keychain and even with cheapest shipping + fee's, I ended up paying 30 bucks for shipping... :/
glad to hear! neokyo was my main mercari proxy before. really glad to hear and hope it opens back up for the public~
Oh no! That's terrible! I know of others who adopted that business model and it never ends well. I've seen some personal shoppers with apartments just chock full of buyers items and it gets me stressed just thinking about it.
I used to have an amazing personal shopper that I used for years and he was the nicest guy ever. But one day he just disappeared. His site was still up. His email requests were still open, but no word from him. I moved on to another lady and eventually she did the same thing. I totally understand if they just decided to quit or something happened outside their control. At that point I felt it was time to move on from personal shoppers since I didn't want to worry about if they'll vanish again or not.
I used to use personal shoppers a lot when I first started out, but I found they are not consistently reliable. While they offer a great personal touch and low fees, they can easily be overwhelmed. Sometimes they'll mess up or you can't get a hold of them right away. I've had some vanish completely with no warning. I feel more comfortable paying higher fees to company operations cause they are always available and I've had no issues so far. I'm glad more are opening up to Mercari since that will make things easier for others.
Yeah, I totally get that. A friend of mine was in Japan and was a personal shopper, but for some reason she started allowing people to buy things without actually... Paying for them. She'd allow a "buy now pay later" option and people just wouldn't pay her, so her apartment was piled with stuff, she had a ton of debt and still had requests coming in. She ended up leaving the collecting community altogether because it stressed her out so bad. Some of these personal shoppers take on way too much workload.
I see. Makes sense. I prefer Goody Japan over White Rabbit myself, but some items only White Rabbit can ship so I go with them.

Likewise!
