HAJIME HINATA - MINNA NO KUJI DEFORMED FIGURE REVIEW

I just got some new figures! So here's my new Hajime Hinata Minna no Kuji Deformed Figure from FuRyu!

A quick note that this figure is not officially named as a "deformed" figure, but I put it in the name of the figure because it's in the same style and everyone would consider it as such.

I bought this guy used from JP Mercari, along with Nagito from the same series and many straps/keychains all for $30 total. I do not have the box, so I will be skipping that section.

THE SETUP

This figure comes in two pieces, the base and the figure. The base has two holes in it, and the feet of the figure each have one small peg.

The figure takes a bit of force to fully push into the base, but have lots of care not to push too hard because I think the pegs could break really easily.

The figure isn't very wobbly and feels mostly sturdy.

THE FACE

Hajime has a determined/angry expression on his face, with an open mouth with teeth showing, tiny downward slanted eyebrows, lidded eyes, and blush below his eyes.

I really love the style of the eyes on these figures—They're really cute with the large size and simplicity. I like how the points on the left sides of the eyes imply that he's looking to the side since his head is turned, it feels like a really nice detail. The colors of his mouth and blush with his skintone and hair color just match so well and creates a really pleasing look.

THE HAIR

Hajime has ear-length, choppy, layered hair in a sort of hazelnut brown color. His hair is longer towards his neck and shorter at the top. He also has a very large ahoge at the top of his head.

This hairstyle is really accurate to the game, and the choppy, angular layers are a really good way to represent it in 3D. It keeps his iconic cute-looking forehead, and also simplifies the design of the hair while keeping it pretty accurate and recognizable.

THE CLOTHES

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/09/14/thumbnails/2852005.jpeg

Hinata is wearing his usual clothes, consisting of a white short-sleeve t-shirt, a green necktie, black pants, and white sneakers.

The detail on his clothes is really incredible. The design on his necktie is pretty much exactly perfect in design and size. Even the design of the embroidered portion of his shirt and the pin in his pocket are there! Also, the shirt has some great sculpting, with creases in his shirt as well as a properly sculpted pocket. Not to mention his shoes even have the red stripe in them—That tiny bit of detail communicates a lot, its crazy how just a red stripe shows that he's wearing white converse sneakers.

I'm really impressive with all the detail and character design accuracy, five out of five!

THE BASE

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/09/14/thumbnails/2852007.jpeg

The base for this figure (and all figures in this series) is a black opaque square shape with the Hopes Peak High School crest on the surface in white.

The base is nice and simple and looks great with the black and white. It looks really good by itself and doesn't call attention away from the figure, and it's definitely much nicer than just a plain clear or flat black base.

THE POSE

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/09/14/thumbnails/2852008.jpeg

Hinata is standing with his legs at shoulder-width, with one leg behind and one in front. He has one arm down by his side with that hand in a fist. His other arm is straight out ahead of him, pointing forwards. His body is twisted slightly to one side.

This figure has some really excellent sculpting, as expected of FuRyu. The hands have individual fingers, the proportions are nice and short and round, so it matches with the head without seeming too small or anything—Which is nice, since I'm really not a fan of the tiny-body-giant-head chibi style.

I really like how the necktie has a bit of physics to it as well, as if he's doing a Phoenix-Wright-Style point where there's a giant gust of wind as he throws out his arm.

Really great pose, really great sculpting, painting, and design.

CONCLUSION

It's not often that I give a figure five stars, but I think Hajime deserves it. This figure is BEAUTIFUL! I love everything about it and there isn't anything I would change whatsoever. I even love the size of the thing, it's about three inches tall. I can't give enough praise to this figure.

Note: Remember not to overpay! These do run high, but try not to spend an absurd amount just because you want it. Keep looking for deals!

Ooo! I used to have the Mondo and Ishimaru figures of this set, but I ended up selling them because my hyperfixation on them faded and I overpaid for them. I love these figures so much, they're so small and so cute.

I also love Hajime's hair on this figure. It's just so accurate and so chunky looking too.
