Happy 3rd Anniversary to Darling in the FranXX!
To celebrate, I knew exactly who I had to review this week

“Daaaaaarling~”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ORIGIN ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Darling in the FranXX was a 2018 anime by Studio Trigger. It tells the tale of a group of adolescents coming of age in a dystopian future where “Parasites” pair up to pilot mecha called “FRANXX.” They fight monsters called “Klaxosaurs” on behalf of the adults that govern this world.
As the audience, we follow the daily lives and battles of Squad 13, a group of these children who go through many relatable social situations as they mature throughout the story. This series is packed with both action and symbolism that Trigger fans have come to love, so it has tons to enjoy both on the surface and really dig into in depth!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FIGURE REVIEW ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zero Two is a 1/7 scale figure by Aniplex. She appears as she does in “Torikago,” the first ending sequence. Her hair, scarf, and tie all seem to be flying in the wind, which is appropriate seeing as the base she stands on is actually the tip top of a huge construction crane!
The details are rendered very well. Various textures such as her reflective horns and metallic cuffs and keychain have the appearance you’d expect, which contrasts with other areas like the design of her tie and skirt.

The aforementioned base even has a real metal cable for the pulley - it looks like the machinery could start moving at any moment!

For anyone concerned: No, nothing in the figure moves, even if it looks like it all could come to life. One thing I’d watch out for is the longer base not only takes up a decent amount of space (it covers the majority of a standard DVD case), but it’s attached at one end. This can make the base feel like it could wobble if it’s not securely planted on a flat surface. For this reason, it would be wise to consider the stability of any risers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PERSONAL COMMENTS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I type this, I still have a few episodes of DitF to go, but it’s been really inspirational to me during some darker and more difficult times in the last few months. I am simultaneously looking forward to the ending and dreading the void I fear it will leave behind </3
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading my Figure Mini-Review! I would love to hear what you think! I also invite you to check out my other Mini-Reviews using the sidebar!
That had to be a fated encounter! And she definitely makes a collection she joins better! :)
I wish you a lot of pleasure watching the last episodes!
And yeah, this figure is beautiful. I'm also impatient to see how GSC's wedding dress ver. ITEM #1064642 will turn out painted.
Ah ~ Thank you very much! :D
Knowing GSC, I feel like it's going to WOW!
She really does look beautiful! ^_^
She certainly cost a pretty penny when I picked her up last year. I don't even want to remember the exact price I got gouged for to graciously provide to someone who preferred the money haha
I've been successful at staying spoiler-free so far for the ending, but I've seen enough to know there was a lot said (#´艸`)
Thank you! I've gotten to know a lot of other series through their figures, so I wanted to pay it back and spread the love (●´∀`)ノ♡ I hope you get her someday soon!
Perfect timing! haha I love the music of this show, too ^_^
I gotta agree that she's a very photogenic figure. Sometimes you have to display a figure at just the right angle, but this is one that makes me glad I put my Detolfs in front of mirrors so she's visible from more angles!
