Komentarze Need HELP (gluing parts?): ODM Gear MEDICOM RAH Attack on Titan

  • If it's part of an articulated piece superglue alone is rarely enough. If possible, you'll need to pin and glue it most likely (see this blog for example BLOG #34675 or google search pin and glue action figures).

I've recently seen online methods involving tiny magnets for non-articulated repairs (which might be the ODM gear issue, I can't tell from the picture). Basically making space and gluing in a tiny magnet to both broken pieces. But it depends on the size of the piece or the issue with what broke... Never tried it myself but it seems like a cool solution for some things.

With gluing, it can come down to more to technique than the glue used. Superglue and 2-part epoxy are usually the two main ones used.

First thing is ensure the parts you're trying to glue are clean. If the surfaces are a dusty/greasy the glue can fail to adhere. Next, don't apply too much. I usually use a pointy stick to apply glue to the surface I want. Helps stop getting glue where it doesn't belong. Superglue can damage paint, so you don't want to get it on any visible surface. Next is patience - chances are you're going to have to sit there for 2-5 minutes holding the part waiting for the glue to set.

Another thing is it's usually a waste of time trying to glue articulated joints - some people try to glue joint parts together but these can undergo a fair amount of force when moving the figure about, which will cause the glue to snap. Epoxy may give more longevity to the repair, but joint parts may need a replacement part.

kyoshinhei8 mies. temu#73863837I recommend Loctite liquid superglue (not gel) for most figure repairs. Just be careful not to put too much or it could seep in the joint and block them.
