Two of my Bootleg FiguresTwo of my Bootleg Figures

//Because I don't know how to embed images on this site yet, I am linking them all from a DeviantArt sta.sh//

There is this store in a mall nearby me that sells anime figures and misc Asian stuff, and as stupid as I was, bought a bunch of figures there-- multiple times.
Although the cheap prices should've thrown me off, I was thirsty for those Miku figures because I never see them in a store like this.
So, after buying 8 figures and spending $200+ over a couple of months of going there, I just realized that they are all bootleg knock-offs. I don't know why it took me this long to figure out, since some are SO OBVIOUS, but I wish it didn't take me forever to figure it out.

--Figure #1 ITEM #216857 --

The first figure I bought from here. To me it wasn't an obvious bootleg until I closely looked at it, then I realized...

sta.sh/07dc97bd...

...her face is terrifying.

sta.sh/0zvxsg6n...

(Here is an extra image of her back; sta.sh/02agaatm...)
Her box looks normal, nothing suspicious that I am aware of, although there is probably mistakes on it that I can't notice.

Front - sta.sh/01mf0gue...
Back - sta.sh/013ylt2q...

She does have stains on her dress in various places, but I just put those off since I thought she was used. It doesn't help that she barley holds a pose, all her joints are very loose, they don't want to stay in place. Her stand is also an issue, the... connector(?) that stands her up falls out the base easily, as well as doesn't stay in her. (It also has air bubbles inside of the tube.)
All in all, I hate her.

--Figure #2 ITEM #104300 (At least a version of it)--

I bought this along with the previous one, and oh my god am I stupid. It is the most off brand of off brand. The box is FAR from official and the figure looks it. I mean, just LOOK at it!

Box Front - sta.sh/028pafcd...
Box Back - sta.sh/01nl1e5z...
Box Left Side - sta.sh/01j1swx8...
Box Right Side - sta.sh/0yrn4zn6...

As you can see from any of the images above, it is COVERED in stolen art, how did I fall for this?? Its so obviously fake!!
But then, onto the figure itself and oh my god...

Full Figure - sta.sh/0fx8o4b0...
Close Up Face - sta.sh/02bydnd2...
Back - sta.sh/01aeje0a...
Bottom - sta.sh/0dhz6pbq...

God! Its so bad and ugly, why is her neck so long??
If you can't see because of the blurriness or the like, here are some notable details;
-Her eyes are black instead of a pinkish-brown
-She has a very long neck when Nendoroids don't even have one
-She is very heavy compared to a normal Nendoroid

Anyways, that is my "review" on these two bootlegs I somehow fell for. If you can't see the images or don't want to click the links, I am uploading the images to here as soon as I post this. Thank you for reading!

...Also, how do I get rid of these things?? No one is going to buy them yet I wasted $65 on just these two!

motakun (25 d. temu) #65978699So sorry to hear that. Was refund not possible at the store? That would be unfortunate. Piece of advice, for any GoodSmile Company items (this also applies to companies under their name like Phat, Orange Rouge and such) you can check out their partnership page. It’s a compilation of retail shops and online stores from around the world that can legally distribute authentic products from the company. partner.goodsmi... I’ve been using this page to avoid buying bootlegs as much as possible.
Sadly, refunds were not possible at that store, which should've been another warning to be honest! Thank you for that site, it will help a lot!

$200+ on bootlegs wow, I'm sure the realization must have been very upsetting. I've heard about these shops but I have yet to encounter one (thankfully) apparently not much can be done about them, as the laws aren't heavily enforced and the crime comes with minor repercussions, like a small fine or casual monitoring.

As this hobby can become increasingly expensive, one has to be very careful and have insight on the subject matter of determining a bootleg. This site is very helpful. Just donate them or have a bit of fun with them, so sorry this happened to you

Don’t blame yourself to hard.
Sadly there is a point where you accidentally obtain one. It is the worst part of the hobby. But you already have have them and in a lot of places selling bootlegs is forbidden. Repainting then is a great idea. It is also a good way to learn (and test) some repairing methods. One has joints I saw. You can use those as spare joints if you break one of an original figure. You can also try to modify them and learning something about that. In the past it happened three times that I unknowingly bought a bootleg. The first I used to learn some gluing and repairing tricks. The second one was one my mom liked. I modified it with a LED light and gave it to her (she still has it on display). Whatever you do with them is up to you. :)

NayanMori (28 d. temu) #65821372Painting them is an awesome idea! I can't believe I didn't think of that before. I think that is what I am going to try and do with them, thank you!

Just jumping on this, there's groups on here and Facebook that are about nendoroid customising! I've very new to that hobby still but it's interesting ^^

lesser-robot-cat (28 d. temu) #65821268The shop took advantage of your trust, but the shame is on them, not you.
Since these figures exist, why not make the best of them? Get some green paint and pink clay and make your very own zombie apocalypse Miku. Spray paint them solid gold and make trophy waifus (worst pun ever, but I'm going to chuckle over it for a while). Use them as test dummies for painting tricks. Learning to patch these two today could make you an expert when a legit figure gets a scratch or ding later.

Depending on where you live it might be illegal to sell bootlegs, so keep that in mind!
