FULL DISCLAIMER: The stickers I use are a part of the Necoco sticker series by Solalis on Line, I did not draw these.

I'm back already! Back with another review for you guys. ♥ But before I get started I wanted to give a special shout out to murdoch! I decided that I wanted this particular figure a few days before she released and I wanted to know if anyone was passing along their preorder rather than ordering first. Murdoch messaged me and I was more than happy to take their preorder. ♥ Thank you for letting me buy your preorder!

Anyway, like last time, before you read ahead I want to ask to please go check out my Instagram! I make a lot of stories about possible reviews and I discuss quality on things I own and companies I have experience with. I'm also planning to do a room tour using the live feature at some point! I'll be posting before I do that. In short, I'm just more active on there than I am on here.

Now let's get on with the review!

FIGURE :: FREEing GoodSmile Racing - Hatsune Miku ~Thai Version~

So like I mentioned earlier I hadn't planned on buying this figure. However, I did see it a lot on my feed and there was something about this one that just drew me in. Since I had things delayed for October I decided to go ahead and get her. ♥ Again, thank you Murdoch for letting me buy your preorder!

Murdoch purchased her from AmiAmi, since their site is under maintenance I can't find the figure page for their pricing and such, but Hobby Search currently has her for 10666 JPY! I believe that was very close to AmiAmi's price and I think the Racing Miku's often go on sale so you could potentially get her for even less. Shipping wasn't too bad either, I opted for Air Packet which was about 2000 JPY (since I deleted the message to clear my inbox I can't find the exact pricing) so overall I spent about 12666 JPY! Which equated about 113 USD. Not too bad for a figure I think, especially when you consider most Racing Miku's have GIANT boxes that make shipping high.

BOX :: 8/10

BLISTER

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576172.jpeg

This is what I was hoping Pulchra's Emilia would be! A window and then images of the figure you bought on the box. But if you read that review then you know that isn't what they did.

https://i.pinimg.com/236x/65/38/18/653818d06c03f6680033f32c136ff51e--cat-ears-oxygen-mask.jpg

I think the box does the job in protecting the figure and I do appreciate that the box isn't giant. I feel like a lot of boxes have just been unnecessarily big and borderline wasteful. I do recycle what I can packing wise, but obviously you can't really rid of boxes for figures easily. Not unless you're a big risk taker. haha So usually I'm left with this giant box wondering how I'm going to store it. But on the other side of the argument, you don't want the box to be so small that it ends up damaging the figure (or accessories) its meant to protect.

This box I feel is the right size, big enough for the figure and to protect the contents, but small enough that you can find a place to store it and save on shipping costs.

https://i.pinimg.com/236x/9a/27/22/9a27221673f33b77560f283fd6a78ac6--cat-ears-rabbit.jpg

The blister doesn't have tape on the sides like Pulchra's Emilia did and it was fairly easy to take apart unlike Union Creative's Miku.

She doesn't come with instructions, but since there are only two pieces I don't really see a need for any.

Overall, the box and blister do their job. I like seeing the box show off the figure you're buying and I appreciate that it's a good size.

BASE :: 5/10

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576189.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576197.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576310.jpeg

The base is just a plain white circle. I'm a little surprised there's nothing on it. I would've expected a "GOOD SMILE RACING" logo on it or the colors of the Racing Miku 2016. I guess if you're talented then you could probably do a neat print screen or even do a custom. I'm not very talented in that department so I'll probably find a couple small accessories to decorate it.

Someone sent me a message when I ordered the figure inquiring about the base and attaching her. I found I had to use a little force, but otherwise the pegs lined up perfectly with the holes on her foot. I could see her leaning in the future as the pegs are on the short side and Miku does lean forward.

Overall, the base is very simple. While it does support the figure I feel the pegs are short and could cause her to lean in the future.

PAINT JOB :: 8/10

SCULPT & POSE :: 18/20

If you're new to my reviews, I combine all these categories because I tend to ramble and put my collective thoughts together. This is also the more photo heavy part of the review. I try to capture every nook and cranny for you guys to determine your thoughts.

First off, let's see what she comes with.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576184.jpeg

Like I mentioned earlier she only comes with two pieces:

♠ Figure
♠ Base

Again, she doesn't have any instructions, but since you just connect her to the base and she's done I don't see a need for any. Now let's see her in full glory. ♥

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576193.jpeg

I'm still captivated by her. ♥ She just looks so energetic and happy. I feel like I should be rooting for the race...even though I'm 10000000% not into racing in real life.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576202.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576217.jpeg

Looking up close you can see that the hair sculpt has a lot of rough edges. I was concerned that there would be obvious seam lines or even splotchy paint due to the red ribbons wrapping around her hair, but surprisingly there really aren't any!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576257.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576326.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576330.jpeg

Any obvious seam lines are skillfully covered by her headphones--which looks like they have little cameras on the side. There are some areas where the paint seemed to go outside the lines, but its very hard to photograph and very, very minor.

Her buns are so cute and they give off a very magical effect to me, probably because Sailor Moon has the same buns.

https://dw9to29mmj727.cloudfront.net/properties/2016/432-SeriesThumbnails_SM__400x320.jpg

https://i.pinimg.com/236x/ca/cb/e9/cacbe9c17da8aa12787c0914d71adb4c--rabbit-ears-cat-ears.jpg

Now let's look down at her body. ♥

To be honest, I was a bit fearful of the paint job because I've read a lot of horror stories of paint jobs on skin being very blotchy and uneven. Especially on tanned figures. So I was fully prepared for a car wreck.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576223.jpeg

Surprisingly, she looks great! I took a lot of photos of her body and I didn't spy anything blotchy or outside the lines. I felt that the shading of her body was just right and I do feel that her body sculpt is "realistic" in a way. At least they didn't make her bones stick out or do any bone breaking pose.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576228.jpeg

Her choker doesn't look like its decapitating her and I like that they gave it a little depth so it isn't just tattooed on her skin. I've seen a lot of companies do that with necklaces and such and it just really bothered me. So I appreciate FREEing for making the choker a real accessory.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576235.jpeg

Like the top, the bottom has very neat painting to it, I didn't notice any bleeding or transfers.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576244.jpeg

I do kinda feel that this part of her skirt was done a bit higher than it should be, but I don't mind it. At least it flows up and isn't an awkward, sharp angle like MegaHouse's Hiyori ( ITEM #236168 ).

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576251.jpeg

The back is just as neat. ♥ I do feel that the small of her back is a little orange? But I think that may be my lighting. While I was taking photos I noticed that her white skirt was reflecting the tan of her skin, making it look like it had a brown/orange stain. But when I moved her to a better angle it went away.

Now for the part of the sculpt that concerns me.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576262.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576267.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576275.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576291.jpeg

Her bracelets.

Before I get completely distracted, I really like that her nails are very neat! My complaint about Emilia was that her nails looked a bit sloppy, almost like Subaru did them. Here it looks like Miku got them done professionally just for the event. ♥

But her bracelets concern me. If there's anything I would worry about breaking in shipping it would be them. They are attached to her wrist on by the bottom and could easily snap off. I'm not concerned about the orange one one her left wrist (left facing you, the viewer) since it looks a bit snug, but I am concerned about the right one. It's very big since I think it's supposed to be a piece of fabric.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576270.jpeg

But as you can see here, if enough pressure is put on the top of the bracelet it could snap and become loose.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576291.jpeg

Aside from that, I feel the the bow part should be more towards the back like everything else. But instead it seems to flow forward, defying the physics of motion.

Now for a couple things I didn't notice in the promo photos, and I almost didn't see while taking photos.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576285.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576337.jpeg

The words!

"GOOD SMILE RACING" is on her right arm. I'm actually glad I can't really see it as the words look slightly uneven to my eyes. Then on her legs is "CRYPTON" which I think is really cool! I'm not too sure how many people know this as there are so many Vocaloids now, but Crypton is the company that created Miku! They first made MEIKO and KAITO, then Miku, Rin/Len, and Luka. When I got into Vocaloid it was just them then Gumi and Gakupo. Now there are fifty million and they're all great! I love that there are more Vocaloids from all over the world.

Anyway, unlike the words on her arm, the one on her leg is seems very even. Which is good since that is front and center.

Now let's look at her shoes. As someone who has a pair of wedges and knows how difficult they can be to walk in, I'm impressed that Miku can do this without twisting her ankle....unless she did that right after this shot was captured. Can you imagine that?

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576298.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576305.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576310.jpeg

The ribbons are very crinkly. I don't think they were pressed before she tied them up. I feel that they should've been made to be flowy instead, just to match the rest of the figure. I also feel that the painting got a little lazy since it looks like the straps are melting into her feet instead of the shoe.

A good thing about the ribbons is that they are slightly flexible, so I don't think they would snap at least.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576342.jpeg

Like her hands her toes are also painted! This foot is done very neat and clean...

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/agentmozell1542576350.jpeg

...while this one seems to be slightly messy. Since you can't see this one I'll leave this to personal preference.

Also bonus...

White panties! Her panties can be easily seen by mistake when taking photos, so if you have a "conservative" family then this wouldn't be the figure to own.

Overall, I do really enjoy this figure. I feel that there are ups and downs but the quality overall is really good! The base could be better, but I think the figure herself picks up the slack. And I'm really happy that there are no paint defects.

Anyway, that's all for now! Just a reminder to check out my Instagram! I'll see you guys in the next one!

Solarstormflare (10 mies. temu) #43913544great review as always! I like the detailed pictures and comments. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but while miku's skirt might flow a bit better than hiyori's, it's also a lot shorter, and i think Hiyori looks a lot better in person than how she does in pictures; she's actually one of my favorite figures! :D

That is true! I may have to see her in person to really decide, but to me the photos always looked too sharp and unnatural. I like it when they follow a "natural" flow like this one (along with ITEM #166904 and ITEM #198363 ). But if I ever get a chance to see her in person I'll really decide. It's a shame another Hiyori was never made, cause I'd love to have her and Yuki go with my Yato. ; v;

EDIT: And thank youuuu. ♥ I try to be as detailed as I can despite only having my camera phone to take photos. ; v;

murdoch (10 mies. temu) #43913294D'aw shucks, thanks for the shoutout agentmozell (*^▽^*)ノ And thanks again for taking my PO, I appreciate it. You were a very pleasant person to do the transaction with! I'm very happy to see that she turned out to be a nice quality figure, the final product looks just as great as the promo pics advertised. FREEing did a great job! Except for that hella boring base, I'm mildly confused by the fact it's blank..(?) Kind of a lazy on their part, though I agree with you that figure itself does indeed "pick of the slack". But yeah, I'm so glad you like her!! <3
Well made and thorough review btw! I never noticed how Sailor Moon-esque her hair was until you mentioned it, now I can't unsee it!

♥♥

FREEing really did do a great job! I haven't gotten a figure from them in a long time, but I know they typically do a great job (unlike Aquamarine). But the base really did surprise me! Even if they did just a solid red or orange it would've been better than a plain white base. It makes me think of one of my prize figures (especially since I currently have her next to one!).

But she's cute so I can easily overlook it and just decorate it with little things I have lying around. ♥ I might even make a mini flag to drape over it.

Pretty Guardian☆Racing Miku~

Sailor Moon is always the one I think of when I see that hairstyle ♥ We've seen it for about 20 years so that's probably why haha

victorviper (10 mies. temu) #43913374The body sculpt looks quite good, as Miku is looking very fit and toned! I'm not usually a fan of tanned figures, but it appears that the tan effect is done pretty well.

She really does look lovely!! They did an excellent job with the paint job too ♥
