So I do have a Japanese address to ship to that isn't a tenso or a proxy but a friend, but I was wondering is it better to order from animate online or amiami considering the points you get also into account?

Prettybarf (9 mies. temu) #31073448Actually the main point is so they can give out refunds without sending money back, but I guess that's a viewpoint.
I mean OPs point is just nitpicking. When you care about something almost as pointless you are better off not buying anything ? Either you buy it or not. You just want the item then you spend
few more. I guess if you run a business and buy from them in massive bulks then sure it is somehow worth , but to the average pleb consumer which we all are it is worthless.

Point systems in shops are just to make you feel little less miserable. I work in a car parts shop so I know the prices of items are at least 100 % more than they actually are worth. But I see some people here are salty about that. But this is the truth :)

Tl;dr just pick the one with the better price or the one you like to deal with more ? :)

Points from both aren't very significant unless you buy from them regularly.

Amiami does international shipping so you don't really need a Japanese address to buy from them (unless it's a Japan-only exclusive item)...

The only reasons why I buy stuff on Animate Online is for Animate-exclusive items and I can earn airline miles if I shop there.

You have to save for a long time to get any kind worthwhile payout for the points. I had to save points for about FIVE plus years in order for the points to pay off one nendoroid.

The point system is "better" over on hobbysearch, but not by much

Shipping to a Japanese address attracts 8% consumption tax with Amiami in the invoice. If you ship the product directly out from japan, there is no consumption tax. There is also flat 500 yen shipping fee withing japan. So that amiami points is a small change amount which is almost worthless in comparison to what you have to spend in order to get it, unless you want to buy cheap low quality prize figures.

My suggestion is go for Surugaya, where price is comparable and lower than amiami + Consumption tax is included + free shipping withing japan for orders more that 1500Yen. Thats a sweet deal.

Also I noticed rakuten has 4% cash back and amiami has a store front, but I've never heard of anyone trying to use that, even though I wanted to make a blog post on it myself.

Helsing (9 mies. temu) #31073280Dont get fooled by those points , they screw you over in other ways. The points systems are just scams that make you feel something less being cucked over imo. The same as tesco club cards or any other point system anywhere.

1 point = 1 yen. I currently have 350 points and I was not buying that much from AmiAmi in the past year. They are pretty generous with points.

Well, AmiAmi offers the lowest prices on market, so you already have a discount buying from them.

What, you think anyone would give you 10 000 points per one purchase? Points are there for people who buy regularly. You buy a lot of stuff and occasionally you will have 1000-2000 points or more. I'd say, you can get it within a year. And 1000-2000 points is a small figure that you will get for free. Sounds like a great appreciation of long-term buyers.

Honestly, I don't find AmiAmi points to be a huge deal. They just knock off some yen from your order and it isn't huge amounts either unless you accumulate your points.

If there are any other good things about points, someone can let us know here, but that's what I have noticed from my experience shopping there.

If you are buying an Animate exclusive, you have a Japanese address, and it's cheaper to get on the Animate Online website, I would order on there.
