Insane quality bootleg - Nendoroid Saber Altria 600Insane quality bootleg - Nendoroid Saber Altria 600Review

Hello and welcome, to today’s figure review!

Figure review though? Would I call this a bootleg review? Who knows.
Five years ago I did my first bootleg figure review, and to be honest the “strange” bootlegs always caught my interest.
Not the usual shitty ones you always come across, but the odd ones that are surprisingly high quality.
In this specific figures’ case, I had seen this figure posted on eBay as a bootleg and it just seemed too high quality. Too good of a sculpt. Too close to the original.
So, knowing I was going to do this review if this came out to be a decently quality, I bought her. She was roughly $20, and probably took about a month to get here.

Anyways, on to the review!

The box:

The box, as you would expect was pretty bad. The photos printed on the box were low quality, dark and blurry. The window to the figure was falling inward, but nothing I wouldn’t expect from a cheap box.

Figure in the clamshell:

Surprisingly high quality so far!

So far so good, if you look closely, you can see some marks on her faceplates and bangs. I was hoping those weren’t paint rub offs, and something I could just rub off with magic eraser...

Figure outside of the box:

All I can say is wow. For bootlegs being nortoriously crappy, but this one from my experience is incredible. Ive been collecting Nendoroids for almost 6 or 7 years too.

Thankfully I was correct on hoping it was going to be a paint rub, and I was able to clean it off with magic eraser.

After:

Body:

Her other face-places came off a little derpy, and her head didn’t fit correctly. After replacing her neck joint with an official good smile one, they fit a lot better.

Overall:

I’ve had worse official Nendoroid stands, so even thought this one is not as strong it’s pretty good. It does the job and holds her in place.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/10/31/1855651.jpeg

Her joints were a little stiff, and her arms notably kept falling off (ended up gluing her hand and arm together to hold her sword, haven’t had problems since.) as well has her signature hair piece, both I fixed with glue.
Since most of the time I just display figures, I was happy to add her to my collection. You can tell she’s a bootleg when you move her around, but just displaying her you can’t really tell. Me personally-just looking at her I couldn’t tell the difference.
Especially since she’s originally an exclusive for around $80+ now, and I got her for $20 shipped.

Anyways, I’ll probably add more to this review later, hope you enjoyed it and let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Halloween!

Calm down, for all we know she could be a factory reject and that’s what I’m personally suspecting. I wrote this review on a figure I’ve heard a lot of people mention they’re interested in, and because I didn’t lie, it’s “Promoting bootlegs”? In some aspects of her I mention how nice I thought she looked, and in other aspects I mention how her parts barely stay together and I had to resort to glue. I’m not gonna say “hey wow she looks like shit” when I think she doesn’t. It’s my review on her after all.

PeanutButter2 l. temu#27973319No I can still put an arm on her base like any other. She is a post 200 nendo so she does not have the round base. Instead there is this small peg that fits between her legs and it is fully concealed beneath her kimono. Not the claw that held the figure by the waist like the pre 200 bases.
The only thing special about this base is the small peg it came with instead of the usual arm. Otherwise it is square like normal.

She's still a snow miku and they all have kinda special bases like the leaf from the snow bell, the cloud from the twinkle snow and so on
So I would put the reason for this base on her to her being a snow miku

Hikari-chan2 l. temu#27973238Well that's because she's for 1) am older nendo and they had this kind of base and 2) she's a snow miku and they often have very special bases that no other nendo have
So I wouldn't compare with her

PeanutButter2 l. temu#27973229Nah I have a clear base for an official one. ITEM #107714
Granted her base is a tad different to begin with. Instead of an arm there is a small peg that holds her legs in place keeping her upright.

Hikari-chan2 l. temu#27970189Out of curiosity: The base is complete clear? Not milky like the official ones? Do you know if all bootleg bases are like this? Would be good to know for future reference if I'm not sure ... even though Nendo and figma bootlegs are usually very very easy to spot

"Bootleg" is an old Texan term. I believe it was meant to describe the alcohol hidden on ones person (usually in the side of a boot).

This has nothing to do with figures. Just some trivia I knew.

well.. what qualifies as a bootleg?

Is it a recast?
Is it a QC reject that was saved from the dumpster and packaged in bootleg packaging?
Is it a ghost shift manufactured item using official molds?

Whatever it is, it's not an official product and no money from its purchase goes to the companies and intellectual producers of the content. So there's that. I'm kind of curious as to what the origin of it is, since it seems rather high detail to be a recast.

Hmm, interesting. I have been wanting a Saber hair part to do a custom. I just might buy a bootleg sometime to do that. I will certainly never have the money to buy the official one, only to cut it up and paint it lol.

I'd still rather buy an official one though. Considering it's Saber, she'll probably have another nendo eventually heh.
