Now that July is over, I'm going to share with you the details on the biggest month for otaku/nerd events. For those of you who were unable to attend, now is your chance to catch up on all of the latest information from the events! (Be prepared for the longest blog post in existence...)

Anime Expo
Los Angeles, CA
June 30-July 4, 2017

All set up and ready to go for the week!

Now to take a look inside the display cases...

Cu-Poche lineup

Model kit lineup

And now, get ready for some exciting new product images!

Our first showing of the ARTFX J Victor paintmaster at an event in the U.S.!
Look at those fancy shiny shoes! And did I mention both Victor and the Makkachin tissue case are removable from the bench? Just imagine having Victor sit on top of your computer contemplating your work/study skills...

Victor's lovely product developer joined us for the Kotobukiya panel on Saturday to give us all the details on this statue. Did you know that his hair is made out of a clear plastic that has been painted over to make it look more realistic--like you can almost see his eye through his bangs?

Yang Wen-Li from Legend of the Galactic Heroes. If you haven't heard of this series, wait for the re-make coming later this year. This series is slated for a three figure lineup, so expect more to come!

Next in the Pitanui lineup after Victor, Yuri, and Yurio from Yuri!!! on Ice (see photo further above), is Sebastian and Ciel from Black Butler! Pitanui collectors, keep your eyes out for these bad boys in the coming months!

And now for some of my favorite photos, let's look at some fan activities!

Chopstick contest: Who was the ultimate chopstick master?! Only AX attendees shall know.

Model kit building workshop: I was personally surprised at how many model kit builders there are out there! Thank everyone for stopping by to build our M.S.G. weapon kits that go with our Frame Arms and Frame Arms Girls! The team was so glad to get a chance to speak with you and we hope you had as much fun as we did!

Frame Arms Girl Giveaway:

Sentai Filmworks gave away Frame Arms Girls model kits to two lucky winners!

And the final photo during AX...

It's always hard to let go of Hughes... *sniff*

San Diego Comic Con
San Diego, CA
July 20-23, 2017

We gave a first look at our DC Justice League ARTFX+ series!
Not only does Wonder Woman look gorgeous, but the detail on Cyborg and Aquaman is just unbelieveable. That's not paint! Those details are actually sculpted in!

Wonder Woman ARTFX sold out at the event :O

First reveal of ARTFX Spider-man Homecoming! His paint wasn't even completed in time for preview night, so he actually showed up late to SDCC.
*Please note this statue is still going through some sculpting changes.

Kotobukiya presentation at the Star Wars Collector's Panel
I know he's lowering his arm from pointing, but I can't help but think he's mid-rap whenever I see this photo :P Look forward to all panels being given in rap form next year.

SDCC Exclusive B & W Harley Quinn

Katana Bishoujo!

This Kylo Ren ARTFX was revealed at last year's SDCC, but with that dynamic pose in the snow, it is still one of my favorites.

Our new Emperor Palpatine on his throne (removable).
*Please note the statue in the image underwent some damage on its way to SDCC.

FN-2199 and Poe & BB-8 2 Pack (comes with "thumbs up" lighter arm)

Kotobukiya Panel-Thank you to everyone who made it, and we missed those of you who didn't! Stop by again next year for more announcements and giveaways!

Kotobukiya also received a few famous SDCC shout-outs:

Actor/comic book fan, Dante Carver, gave Kotobukiya a shout out at the Resident Evil panel for our upcoming Leon S. Kennedy statue from Resident Evil Vendetta.

Actor Mark Ruffalo, Marvel's Bruce Banner AKA "The Hulk," holding our Avengers Now Hulk ARTFX+

Actor Grant Gustin, from DC's TV series, "The Flash," posing with our The Flash ARTFX+

And here is a short event wrap-up from Kotobukiya's very own Agent Leu at The Koto Review. SDCC Wrap-up

Wonder Festival
Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture
From July 30, 2017

WonFes Booth

Justice League and DC TV series figures

Cooking Deadpool

Reveal of Bishoujo Supergirl ver. 2 fully painted during WonFes!
I love how the gold in her outfit draws out the gold in her hair!

Avengers mini-figures based on the art by artist duo, Gurihiru (available in Japan only)

Pokemon series

The first painted reveal of Lillie and Cosmog, our only Pokemon figure available in North America at this time.

You can pick up Lillie and Cosmog ONLY at the Pokemon Center until August 30th. Pre-order only. Pokemon Center Lillie and Cosmog

(The following are available only in Asia, and currently awaiting licensor approval.)

Coming soon!

And that is all for the July events wrap-up! I sincerely look forward to seeing you all at our next event, New York Comic Con which runs October 5th-8th, 2017. I can't wait for the lovely Fall East Coast weather!

See you there!
